this week we’re headed to one of the most beautiful places i’ve ever been, even if just for a few hours when we stopped there on a cruise — the Balearic island of Menorca in spain. we’ve visited the interiors of the very charming ‘finca’ (small boutique hotel) once before, but today i thought we’d see what we would wear to es bec d’aguila — it’s just that special, and besides i fantasize about going back to the island to stay here, so i was thinking about my getaway ensemble! this 19th-century building was redesigned by Paris-based architecture and interior design studio Atelier du Pont and while very luxury, it’s also comfortably laid back, so i’m just packing a few essentials. i kinda love wearing a cute mini dress over flared bluejeans, and i’m going to pair that look with some sleek suede boots. it’s an easy mix & match look, so i’m throwing in my favorite tee and cozy sweater for evenings around the grounds. don’t forget a swimsuit and sandals for pool time. and while you’re lounging might i suggest reading Olive, Again by Elizabeth Strout — if you loved the HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge starring Frances McDormand or the original book, this is a continuation of her story — one that I can’t wait to read!
